The Science on Blueberries

Blueberries have been proven time and time again to be one of the most powerful berries on the planet. Known to have one of the HIGHEST antioxidant levels in common plant foods, many studies have been done to prove their efficacy, as well as the potency of their most prized antioxidants, flavonoids and anthocyanins.

Why Antioxidants?

DNA damage occurs everyday in our bodies and over time this can play a role in aging and the occurrence of cancers and other illnesses. However, antioxidants can help to neutralize some of the free radicals that are causing this damage! That is why antioxidants are so powerful for anti-aging, cancer protection and more.

In a study of 168 people, each drank 1 liter of a mix of blueberry and apple juice daily. After 1 month, oxidative DNA damage due to free radicals was reduced by 20 percent!

Brain Health

This oxidative stress can also accelerate the aging of the brain, leading to cognitive issues. This is why organic blueberries are the leading ingredient in our Brain Berry Boost formula, designed to assist in enhancing memory, mental clarity and acuity!

In fact, in animal studies it has been shown that these antioxidants in blueberries can possibly affect the areas of your brain that are crucial for intelligence. They do this by possibly supporting aging neurons, leading to an improvement in the inner-cell signaling.

Insulin Resistance

Blueberries are also said to be very helpful in diabetics or those with metabolic syndrome, these are currently two of the world’s largest health problems at this point in time. In a study done on 32 obese people with insulin resistance, they were given two blueberry smoothies daily, which were reported to cause major improvements in their insulin sensitivity!

Blueberries are wonderful for so many aspects of your health. We hope you enjoyed this information! Please feel free to leave us a comment or a review, we’d love to hear from you!
